The Minerals and Miners Centre MMC is discussing with Women in Mining UK representatives to increase training, mentorship, networking, and research to attract more women to the industry and promote gender balance.
Gender issues in mining remains a critical aspect of our dialogue when we meet in conferences internationally. Mining is male dominated but women constitute greater than 40% of the artisanal and small-scale mining (ASM) sector according to research.
